Re: Broken Forearm Latch, Part 2

I appreciate the information about the Pumpkin Mountain Gunshop, and would be thankful for any other leads members may have. My apologies for the error in the original post with regard to which portion of the latch was broken; without the part in front of me, my feeble mind told me it was the other ...

Broken Forearm Latch, Part 2

Can anyone suggest a skilled micro-welder that could repair the broken AE forearm latch described in my earlier post? Broken Forearm Latch

I have an AE manufactured in 1924 whose forearm latch has broken. The break is across the moveable portion of the latch at the hinge pin, and appears to be an old crack that finally gave way. Can anyone tell me if the latch is plain carbon steel or an alloy? Thanks for any help you can send my way!

Perkins Pad

I'm not certain about the relationship between the pad and patentee, but a J.W. Perkins patented an adjustable butt plate in the early part of 1914, and Perkins solid recoil pads were available on the market in about 1918.

Waterfowl Loads

I was able to get a response from Eley Hawk regarding Bismuth, and they stated that it would not be widely available in the U.S. until 2009. Unless you have the goodies to roll your own, it appears that NICE or Hevi-Shot Classic Doubles will be it this year. Aim carefully!
