More Recoil Pads

Post by Researcher »

I've been searching for recoil pads in some of the earlier 12-gauge records. I've hit a couple that have me stumped. From 14038 a DE-Grade "#6 Recoil (Get from Tryon)" and from AE-Grade 23111 "Full Pistol fitted with Perkins Recoil Pad Furnished by Customer."

Anyone got any info on a #6 or a Perkins recoil pad?

Perkins Pad

Post by Wallaceone »

I'm not certain about the relationship between the pad and patentee, but a J.W. Perkins patented an adjustable butt plate in the early part of 1914, and Perkins solid recoil pads were available on the market in about 1918.
