I found this website about a month ago and after enjoying the knowledge found within for a few weeks, I decided to become a member although I wasn't sure what I would gain that I couldn't get for free already. Well, I have just received the members' letter and thoroughly enjoyed the info inside and each of the Board Members bio. That photo of Ansley shooting at the 1901 Grand was great! Gaining access to the member only forum is interesting as well.

I appreciate the prompt responses I've received by the Board to the questions I've posted although I don't know what happened to Silvers' excellent posting to my inquiry of the malfunctioning safety on the CE I bought. What gives, Frank? I'm sure others could benefit from it.

Oh and btw, the pin you get for joining is really cool and of the highest quality.

Hello Mike, you make some excellent points on the benefits of membership. Right now we have ~412 registered users and only a fraction are members. The fact is any organization needs members and income to keep functioning and growing. Your comment about some wondering why join when they can get information for free, seems to be the key question. Personally I feel our annual membership is cheap "payment" to an organization such as the AHFCA that has a site and members who are willing to help with problems.

Maybe the Members Forum, Frank, instead of PM? I'm curious too. One greeat benefit to membership is the great extent of knowledge that can found throughout the site. Since joining, I've use the various posts to take apart and repair my first Fox, a Sterlingworth, and now am preparing to send another very early graded Fox for restoration. Would not have attempted this without the knowledge shared here. Thanks!
