Sterlingworth front sight

Post by sidreilley »

I would like to replace the small generic brass bead front sight on my Sterlingworth (1925), with a white bead or Bradley style front sight and a mid bead. Looking through Brownell's on line I find several different thread sizes for these sights (as well as tapered pin). Can anyone tell me what size my gun is so I don't have to experiment and then send the wrong one back. Thanks.

I got some of the smallest ones from Brownell's but felt they were still a little large. I chucked them up in my Dremel and worked them down to a size I liked by working the bead against a fine file.

I think he is more worried about the threads or tapered post than the size of the bead...

I don't have your answer, but I know there was a past thread on this, you might try searching for it here. If you don't get your answer quickly, I would call CSMC... they likely know the answer, have the product, and will ship it today.

Cheers

Hill City area; although I'm currently in Andover (east of Wichita).

I pulled the original sight bead out today and found that it is a tapered post, not threaded. Midway has Lyman replacement for $7 that looks like it will work.
