The Fox Collectors forum was founded in 2006 to stimulate interest in the history and production of Fox shotguns. We believe you will enjoy our forum and learn more about the rich history of Fox shotguns.
At daybreak we were on a woodland pond. Managed a double on young wood ducks and later the gentleman to my right in our blind connected on the passing goose with his semi-automatic. Enjoyed the early A 12 gauge to start the morning then switched to a 16 gauge Sterlingworth for jump shooting at the second pond a short drive away. While blocking for the jump shoot, my friend made an impressive long shot on the mature male wood duck shown which was brought to hand after a long blind retrieve in a bean field.
The Sterlingworth is in great original shape for its age. This Fox seemed to pair well with the coloration of the mature wood duck. After a retrieve of approximately 100 yards in a bean field the wood duck still had the acorn, likely from the woods around the pond, in its mouth. My friend is going to have this duck mounted. Not sure if the acorn will remain during that process.
