Even though the No. 3 was dropped about the same time as the cocking indicators, this No. 3E Magnum-10 has the stippling --

My 16ga NID4E 2bbl set is stippled and does not have the cocking indicators yet the serial #(1928) seems to pre-date the time frame as accepted for the cocking indicators being dropped? I am looking forward to receiving the Cody letter I applied for to see what details it may hold as to the guns build time frame, order details, customer etc.,. I have wondered if it was a frame stamped earlier in production and completed a few years later? Here is a picture of it next to my 12ga NID4E dated 1927 and the Cody letter from the 12ga...
