Tom Kidd did an article on a gun with an unmarked receiver that has three bands behind the breechballs in The Double Gun Journal, Volume Nine, Issue 1, pg 63. That gun was made up of numbered parts from other guns. The forearm was from a D-Grade, 7786, and someone at a later date crudely stamped that number on the barrel flat and the trigger guard tang. The stock was from C-Grade 2559.

There was a gun for sale recently with an unmarked normally profiled receiver. Its forearm iron is stamped 1DD and the barrels were likely from A Grade serial number 821, but someone stamped 33 after the 821 on the barrel flat.
