Would the stock from a 20ga A grade(year unknown) fit the receiver of a first gen B grade 12ga?

Not likely. That 20 ga. stock is rather petite. Based on what others have said in the past, swapping a 12 ga. stock with another 12 ga. isn’t easy.
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

The more definitive answer is NO. The AH Fox smallbore frame is much smaller in all dimensions than the 12g frame. For the same reason a regular 12g stock isn’t compatible with the so-called Magnum 12g frame.

Remember that even within the same frame size there are subtleties in dimensions and machining over the years, and the chance of one stock properly “fitting” another frame of the same gauge is very slim. frank
