I was finally able to make it out for my first duck hunt of 2026.
After some scouting I was able to secure permission on a flooded pea file that was just covered in ducks! I knew it wasn't going to take very long so I tried to stretch it out for a while and even stayed for a little longer just to enjoy the show. My trusty Sterlingworth performed flawlessly again and it wasn't long before I'd reached my daily limit. I can think of few things better than watching hundreds of mallards finishing all the way down to the water right in the decoys. I can't wait to go again!
Duck season has arrived!
