what is meaning of Utica gun with Philly features. thanks in advance. all the best 44whiskey

Basiclly the change of where the manufacturing occurred had not changed the look of the gun yet.. Later on Savage guns the top lever and forearm and some other subtle nuances would be obviously different from the philly era guns.
Savage was using up Philly stock parts to build their guns tho branded "Savage"

Usually the two most noticeable differences for a “Savage” era gun will be the capless (plain) Pistol Grip and the splinter forend with a blunt end. Obviously this will go along with the Savage address roll stamp on the left barrel. When someone mentions Savage gun w/Philly features I think of the capped PG and the more slender forend with a more rounded/sleeker front end. Brett

Top lever, safety button and forend shape for me. I think the capless pistol grip came along pretty late.
