Parker DH vent rib

Post by waterman »

Hey guys I know this is a fox form but I thank some of you have Parkers. Twelve years ago I was twenty six years old and wonted my first double gun I had a really good friend that had several fine doubles and I tried to learn as much from as I was able to before he passed away the man was in his eighetys then and i have a couple of his guns today. Back to story I was at a gun show the man at the table had a Parker DH 32" vent rib gun there I thought it was the most wonderful gun I had evar seen. He was asking $3400.00 for it I gave $2800.00 for the gun and took it to my friend to show him my parker when he saw the gun he love it too then he broke the gun down and smiled at me . Paul said "son you bought you a lesson in you education on gun buying' the gun had two different sets of seral numbers and the receaver had been buffed I was a sick man. Paul said the 32" Dgrade vent barrels were verry nice and the gun was pertty I guess he was being nice. My question is how bad did I get beet on the gun I put the gun in my safe and I have not had it out for any one to see for twelve years. Every time I go to buy a gun now I thank of it thanks Donnie.

You would have to show us photos to enable us to even hazard a reasonable guess. If the vent rib is factory, the barrels would be worth $1500+ to someone. On gunbroker.com you might be able to recoup your $ from another novice  Or a not so novice with a set of number dies...
