I found my nose down, straight grip stocked XE 12 with its' litter mate, a straight gripped B at the same time on consignment together in a very small shop. I knew I won the lottery that day.
Both had been shipped to the same store in Trenton, NJ a few years apart according to the cards. I only wish the wood was in good enough shape that they did not need to be restored. I would have like to have kept them in their original state.

Thank you for the kind words on this XE. Still really cant believe it. Anyway I just received some more info from the retired historian at Griffin and Howell. Although he can not provide a factory letter he did provide me with the following info.
Recieved at Abercrombie and Fitch on 10/23/1930 in a lot of 17 fox guns. Cost to abercrombie was $123.00 Remained unsold in inventory until bought back by savage at cost on 8/4/1938 .
