NE Gunsmith

Folks, I am looking for gunsmith that is compentent with older doubleguns. I recently scratched an old itch and aquired a damascus barreled shotgun. In this case a 1890"s vintage Parker. When I took her to the range for a light workout I discoverdd that the forward trigger had an extremely light pull, boradereing on "hair trigger" . Someone in the Northeast would be best. I am in Connecticut and would perfer to deliever the gun in person if possible.

He is not in the North East and is particularly noted for his work on Lefevers but my recommendation for a good double gun smith is Buck Hamlin in Pevely, MO. I have heard positive comments (from Parker owners et al.) regarding Abe Chaber (sp??) I believe he is located somewhere in the southwestern portion of the state? He's an experienced double gun smith and certainly one that you could hand deliver the Parker in question. Another CT based name I have heard from time to time is that of Mitch Schultz. I have not had any work performed by either of these gentlemen, just passing along the info. Perhaps others will comment.
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

Contact Robin Hollow Outfitters in Mapleville RI (I have no affiliation with them, other than being a satisfied customer).

They deal extensively with vintage shotguns and I am sure they will point you in the right direction.

PS--my 16 ga BE came from them :)

Mitch Schlutz just did a go through on a recent 16 CE purchase.
I had him check it out before firing the thing to make sure it was safe and adjust anything that needed done.
He is in Connecticut and is the gunsmith recommended to me for vintage Fox work by the folks at Galazan.
