Superfox question

Hi all, I don't post much but I do like visit the fox site often.

I have the opportunity to purchase a superfox. But it has a lot of what ifs I wasn't expecting. First off it's a strait hand stock, with no safety! I do believe the no safety and SHS to be original however the gun has been restocked and the fore end has been replaced and the wood needs work. That's not really a problem I have a wood guy that can do the work. However there is one more question that's very interesting the triggers and ejectors are set up for a lefty! I believe the triggers had work done because they pull at a crisp 4 pounds. The gun appears to have been built in 1923 the s/n is 5 digits and starts with 28. But with the restocking this makes me wonder if someone had the gun converted for a lefty. One thing I do need to do is measure the chokes and see how the right and left barrels are choked. I didn't have my bore mic with me today. Tomorrow I will have a chance to check the bores. By the way I'm a lefty! I'm just wondering if any of you have come across a fox set up for a lefty until today I never had.

It sounds like some of your questions about the gun's configuration could be answered by purchasing an AHFCA order card for your serial number. What is your serial number?

How much does it cost and where do I mail a check to?

I was able to mic the bores and the left bore is more open than the right.

If you are a member of the AHFCA, the info is free, once a year, by requesting on the member's portion of this forum. Otherwise, I think you have to mail it in. Being a member is the easiest way because they email the information to you.

A paid member gets one free lookup per year. That's intended as a benefit for members; there is no way for a non member (registed user) to get a card copy by paying a fee.

This is a good example - as cited many times previously - where signing up as an AHFCA member is a good idea. First and foremost to support the organization that maintains this website where people can gain information on your Fox shotgun. Second reason is so that you're ready if/when you come across a Fox and want a quickie card lookup. Otherwise it puts tension on several volunteers when someone tries to sign up in a hurry and then asks to get an equally quick card lookup. Third reason is, members have access to the Members Forum where you're more likely to get a good answer to your question. Just the way it is.....
