Sterlingworth
Guys, need a little help. A Sterlingworth #114931 was offered the other day. I'm a little leary as the listing noted twin ivory beads. Is this the Sterlingworth DeLuxe by Savage? Could anyone hazard a guess as to what year(s) the gun was produced? A.H. Fox or Savage? Thanks for all help. bugs

Re: Sterlingworth
Should be a Philly gun with that serial number probably 1928-29 range. Twin Ivory beads were always an option on the Philly made guns. The Sterlingworth Deluxe didn't come about until Savage took over. The package added the twin ivory beads and the recoil pad together as a discount over the options ordered by themselves.blindduck2 wrote:Guys, need a little help. Re: Sterlingworth
To add to Vaturkey's post the recoil offered on the Sterlingworth Deluxe was most generally a Jostam Anti-Flinch pad. I suspect a customer could specify another pad but the Anti-Flinch pad was used extensively on Sterlingworths and lower grade graded guns.
