Bore Dia

Post by fritzd »

Hello,
Can someone post the original bore diameters for Fox 12 ga guns. Are they the same no matter what the barell weight number is? #1 being the heaviest and # 4 being the lightest?

Thank you,

Fritz

Bore diameters varied through the years based on observations in that no factory drawings exist (at least at this time).
The standard 12 ga bore is .729, Fox guns post about 1911 normally measure .729 +- .002. Guns pre 1911 normally measure tighter some down to .724.

Interesting. I didn't know it was a generality. I had a 1911 A grade with .725 bores.
Beware the man with one gun...he likely will bore you to death in others ways, too.
