Can anyone give the measurements of of a Savage era 16 Ga standard bore diameter and for all the choke constrictions. I had chokes measured at a Cabelas today and they came to 0.014 and 0.018 and the guy told me "looks like full and full" My galazan choke tool fit in at IC and F, and I'm not sure that the Cabelas employee knew what he was doing.
Thanks

Those measurements are more like a tight IC and a light modified. Bore diameter for that gun should be between .558 and .662. As long as it's close to that you're okay. You really need the length of the choke taper though. It's a hit or miss thing with Cabela's employees. At least that's been my experience. Hope this helps.

My Galazan gauge reads my Utica 16ga as IM and F. Never cared enough to have them actually measured. Not much respect for drop-in choke gauges here though.

Here's one of mine. Unaltered:
Bore diameters are .658. Chokes are .018 (rt) and .032 (lt).

Thanks guys,
I took my micrometer and measured the muzzle on each barrel. On the right, it was 0.650 and on the left it was 0.636, assuming a bore diameter of 0.660 I think that works to IC and IM. Now to see if it patterns that way...
