Did late model Sterlingworths ever have braised ribs?

I have a Savage era 16 ga. Sterlingworth that appears to have braised ribs. It is one of the later ones, around 1939.

There is a definite line on the either side of the rib that is a bronze color. I thought this was an indication of braising.

So my questions are :

Is the bronze line an indication of braised ribs?

If so, did Savage ever braise there ribs on, or did this one have the ribs relayed at some point?

Yes, some late Utica Fox barrels were "brazed" but not "braised" Although there's nothing wrong with "braised ribs" preferably beef.

The Savage barrels on that custom Fox (now for sale at Ivory Beads) were actually brazed as a thin bronze colored line was clearly visible along the length of the ribs after rust bluing. I have seen a number of these barrels and have been told by an ex-Savage Chicopee gunsmith of their use.

Would that mean the barrels could have been hot blued instead of rust blued?

One could surmise that was the reason Savage stopped soft soldering barrels but then I have never seen what I considered a hot blued factory A.H. Fox gun.

Researcher wrote on a thread that no Foxes came from factory fitted with brazed barrels but that a good number of the very last new old stock unfitted barrels had brazed ribs. I have several sets of new old stock brazed rib barrels. Bobby
