Does anyone know where there are photos of the Fox CSE that was made for Louis Eisenlohr?

There are plenty of pictures of it in McIntosh's book, and after it was united with its first set of barrels, in my article on "Number 35" in The Double Gun Journal, Volume Twelve, Issue 1.

I have seen the photos (3) in the Mcintosh book. One of which is badly out of focus and all are from the same general angle. I was looking for something with a little more resolution and different perspectives. It looks to be a very beautiful gun.I will look in the DGJ volume you listed.

I do not have the refrenced DGJ so thank you for posting the photos. I checked their page and they do have the back issue for sale. The CSE #35 looks like it is really an extraordinary Fox. Have you ever seen it....Does it ever go on display? That early turn of the century style of engraving would make a wounderful custom gun with a french gray finish.

Number 35 is a very interesting gun, yes beautiful engraving. As Dave mentioned, the DGJ article is a great source for info & photos of the gun. Many great angles were taken. Get yourself a copy of that issue as soon as you can.

Yes, I have seen it and it is exceptional as you mentioned. Mr. Eisenlohr had a couple of great yachts too....he definately had some nice "things". I have a book which he co-wrote and published about his trip to Alaska. The book was presented to his friends by him upon his return from the trip. In one chapter he describes touring parts of Alaska by automobile.......this was in 1905!!!!....picture that, an auto on Alaska roads in 1905. ( I wish I knew what type of car it was)

Fritz, a former owner of the second set of barrels and the former owner of the gun after its reunion with the lost barrels are regular posters on this site. Maybe one of them would remind us when and where the gun was sold last. I think it was in a Julia auction a while back. Maybe the Julia pictures are good ones. Maybe the new owner is one of us.

I went through the archives of the Julia Auctions and the listing had been saved. It was sold in the fall auction of 2007. Pretty nice photos.

More information is available on that great gun if the former and present owners choose to share it. I don't know anything beyond the Julia offer to sell.
