Hi,
New to the forum and glad its here. I have a Fox-Sterlingworth SP #137285. It was given to me when I was 16. I took it out after not having fired it (or anything) for about 20 years. I took my 14 year old to a skeet and trap range and we had a blast. Unfortunately, a piece of the Walnut stock near the breach broke off and I did not find the piece. Where should I get it repaired? I live in Bethesda, MD, 20817.
Additionally, I noticed in another post that maybe I should not be using steel shot, or perhaps a weaker load? I was using the least expensive Remington # 7 load I could buy. Any recommendations. Do I have to retire this gun and just use it occasionally?
Thanks

Re: SP #137285 questions
Are you saying you used #7 STEEL shot?? If yes STOP, steel shot will damage the barrels of a vintage shotgun. I would suggest you look at the RST line of shotshells (just Google it) they are safe for vintage guns.
I would contact Craig Libhart at http://www.susquehannastockworks.com/ regarding the chip out of the head of the stock. Craig
