Re: Fox Sterlingworth Firing Pin

Thanks Cory for your comment. Honestly though, I know there are numerous gents here who could have answered that and similar tech questions but for some reason(s) so many hold back and wait for a comparatively few regulars - count them on a few fingers - to spend their time to answer. And now it's ...

Re: AHFCA High Gun Award at the 2026 Hosford Cup

Thanks Jeff. Mighty fine shooting Brett. That shoot sounds like a fun shoot. How many shooters did you get? I think there were 40 participants. The main event was 100 birds (50 birds at two different 5-stand courses). The “Don’t Shoot the Hen” was a blast. I had a great score going until one hen fl...

Re: AHFCA High Gun Award at the 2026 Hosford Cup

Today the Hosford Cup took place near Dexter, MI. The Ann Arbor Moose Sportsman Club is the host club for this great event and Dana Farrell and all of the volunteers from the club do a great job putting on this excellent shoot. The AHFCA once again sponsored the High Gun award for those shooting a F...

Yep, 25-20 SS. If the pic below is expanded it will show that the gun is marked on the left barrel flat as 25 20 S. Not sure why it was marked that way. Brett

Re: Hollenbeck - Three-Barrel - Royal

For those not as familiar with the Hollenbeck/Three Barrel Gun Co/Royal Arms Gun Co. drillings here is SN 114. It’s a 20 gauge Grade 2 with 25.20 rifle. It is in the ledger but no shipment date is given which is not uncommon. I would estimate between 1903 - 1905 but who knows! IMG_0999.jpeg IMG_1001...

Re: Hollenbeck - Three-Barrel - Royal

Dave, Thank you very much for the tabulation of rifle calibers. Very interesting. I could have guessed regarding the .32-40 and .30-.30 being the most prevalent given how often they are encountered when you run across one of the Drillings. Now to find that elusive 22 WCF with two and the rarest the ...

Very cool that it survived all this time with the swivels in tact! Also, wouldn't you love to know how it made its way back to the states!

Re: Dad's Fox Sterlingworth

Looks like a nice veteran that has seen service but still in nice shootable condition. What is the barrel length? Missed your question Researcher....this Sterlingworth has 30" barrels. I picked it up from my gunsmith today. He replaced the butt pad with an aftermarket black plastic Fox style b...

Below are some pics of BE 16 gauge #300493. It letters as being completed and shipped on May 6th, 1915. Original consignee is shown to be “Exposition”. I bought this gun a number of years ago from a fellow Fox member. The original hang tag was included along with a handwritten card from 1961 where t...
