C Grade screws

I have a C grade 12 gauge ser.# 7982 with 2 small screws in the top of the rib, starting 11/16 from the back of the barrels and spaced 2 and 1/2 inches apart and timed perfectly. Has any one seen this before ?

It sounds like some type of rear sight was installed on the gun.

I can't imagine how tough it was to set that site up to work properly.
Thanks for the information. Do the mounting holes measure 2 1/2 center to center. Thanks Jim
