what do you consider minimal wall thickness (9" ahead of chambers to the muzzle)
had a gun come my way that has #4 weight barrels , 9Marked) and has .020" wall thickness 8" from breeches and light pitting in bores.
would you accept and shoot that or pass on it?

If there is pitting in 4 weight barrels I would pass. In my opinion #4 barrels should be approached with caution. In my search for a light Fox grouse gun I was always looking for # 3 or #4 barrels. It seems more often than not there were issues. Ripples , bulges, and dents were to common. I look for a little more thickness now.
