Fox Collectors

It is time to rewrite the chapter on the A FOX GETS THE GAME pocket catalogs. McIntosh & Headricks stated they were used from 1918 to 1924, with the first year, 1918, having the net prices printed in the catalog and from 1919 on having inserted price lists.

The large brown A FOX GETS THE GAME catalogs may have been used from 1915 to 1917 as they say, but in fact all of them have the 1915 prices in them -- Sterlingworth $25.00, Sterlingworth Ejector $32.50, A-grade $37.50 , AE-Grade $45.00, B-grade $52.50, BE-Grade $60.00, CE-Grade $75.00, XE-Grade $100.00, DE-Grade $150.00 and FE-Grade $350. For the later years they have an IMPORTANT--Change of Prices slip pasted in --
These prices I listed above, came into effect in the 1914 large grey A FOX GETS THE GAME art catalog which introduced the Gough-style engraving, but doesn't include the Fox-Kautzky Single Selective Trigger. Some 1914 catalogs had an insert sheet on the Fox-Kautzky Single Selective Trigger. The large brown A FOX GETS THE GAME catalogs include several pages on the Fox-Kautzky Single Selective Trigger. All this as back ground to the fact that I recently scored A FOX GETS THE GAME pocket catalog with the 1914-15 net prices and six pages of information on the Fox-Kautzky Single Selective Trigger which I am dating as a 1915.

Dave so what your saying is the pocket catalog was first used in 1915 and not 1918 as previously thought?

Thanks Dave. The way that you unravel this stuff and pay attention to the smallest detail makes my head spin. Good work RESEARCHER!

That is what I'm saying for the moment.

We knew that there are pocket catalog versions of the first three larger "Campfire" art catalogs, 1907, 1908 and 1909. Now we know there is a pocket catalog version of the last large "A FOX GETS THE GAME" art catalog, 1915. So, the question arises are there pocket catalog versions of the 1910, 1911 and 1912 "Campfire" art catalogs and the 1913 and 1914 versions of the "A FOX GETS THE GAME" art catalogs?

Perhaps these two folders were the "pocket" catalogs in the 1912 or 13 years when the Godshalks first took control --
