Northeast S x S Shoot on June 4th

Post by Jeff S »

For 2015, I have "budgeted" for one more A.H. Fox. Unfortunately they're tough to find. I'm considering making the 11 hour drive to Ernie Hausmann's on June 4th. I've never been to one of these events, but it might be worth the drive if there are going to be some guns for sale. In the postings I've gathered that there are displays at this event, but are they just for "show" or are some guns for sale?

You'll not be disappointed if you make the drive. Tons of guns to drool over and then buy. This is a Fox event if there ever was one.

Come prepared to write checks, but also to shoot.

I just joined last fall. Is there any chance that a long term member will "fleece" a new guy like me, or is this a relatively safe environment. :D

Safe for sure. As Douglas Adams wrote, "Mostly Harmless".

Safe, but verify. Verify is through the AHFCA members at the AHFCA booth.

Safe----we are asked to give an opinion on guns for sale by many new collectors at shooting events. The dealers never have a problem if you want to take a gun to our booth for us to examine and give an opinion. We also have the factory records at the booth along with bore mics and a wall thickness gauge.
The more experienced eyes that look at a gun the better in my opinion.
Many times the best values on Fox guns are the ones members have for sale at our booth.
I think you will find us a friendly, helpful and outgoing bunch that wants to help new collectors and especially members of the association.

I "googled" Friendsville, Pa. and it gave me an estimated population of 121 or something like that. When you guys go to this meet to you sleep in your cars or is there a nearby town that has hotels? Also, do you sign up for events when you arrive or do recommend signing up ahead of time?

Many participants stay in Binghamton, NY. You can sign up for shooting events when you arrive. DO NOT follow your GPS to Hausmann's follow the written instructions, GPS will send you down very poor single lane roads.

Go on the Hidden Hollow website for hotel information. Hotels in Vestal, New York are about twenty five miles from the range. A pleasant drive on country roads.
