Also a comment: it's a shame that so few seem to appreciate that the freedoms we enjoy are built on the sacrifices of our veterans and current service people. Food for thought: I'm usually in Canada deer hunting on/about Remembrance Day and what a difference. Most everyone there, young and old, wear the RCL red poppies. I see them on airport concourses, hotel shuttles, taxis, at stores, bars, gas stations. And now I ask, how many of our VFW poppies did you see during your day today?

Bonnie Jean and I went out for our Veterans Day lunch at Clinkerdaggers in the Old Flour Mill at Spokane Falls today. Bonnie had gotten a Buddy Poppy yesterday when shopping at Fred Meyer. People were stopping her and asking where she got it as they hadn't seen anyone taking donations and passing them out anywhere?!? I know I hadn't seen any.

There are so many men and women we owe so much to. When asked they stood up and stepped forward "send me".
We are grateful for all those that served and have served.

I didn't go to town today due to the cold snap. I keep these two poppys displayed in my laundry room. They are a daily reminder of all who serve.
