Gun show finds

Went to my usual gun show on Saturday and could not believe my luck when I ran into a fella with a 12 ga.Sterly from 1922.The wood us kind of beat up,it has seen a lot of oil over the years and will need to be replaced,but the case colers were nice and everything else looked good too.Did not think $450 was too bad so I got it.Continued wandering through the aisles and came upon a dealer I had not seen before.In the rack on his table there sat an early B grade with 30" barrels.I have been looking for a gun made when Mr Fox was running his business and also like the early style engraving on the older guns.The receiver has gone silver but the bluing is still good on the barrels.Unfortunately the stock had been cut down,but I figured since you do not see these every day I would make him an offer and walked away with it for $1000.Wondering if that was as good a deal as I thought it was-I know I will have to put some money into this gun.It is a 12 gauge,no ejectors,made in 1908.Any idea how many 12 ga.early engraving style B-grade guns were made? I know this grade was taken out of production in 1918-maybe because sales of it were slow. Thanks-J.S.
