Las Vegas Antique and Sporting Arms Show

Post by Researcher »

I just received the confirmation for our table at the winter Las Vegas Antique and Sporting Arms Show, January 18, 19, 20, 2013, set-up day Thursday January 17, 2013. Now the big question, do we have any members willing to step forward and commit to doing a display for this show? Anyone interesterd and willing can email me at AHFCA@comcast.net

The AH Fox Collector’s Association set up a display of Fox guns at the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show.

Researcher was first at the show setting up and last to leave. The entire association owes him our appreciation!

Mark,

Thanks for posting the photos.

Dave

We had a good time. One member bought his first Fox, and another scored a great CE-Grade "Pigeon" gun. By the way, the third person in the picture with Paul and myself is Ray Padula from Coeur d'Alene, a Winchester collector.

Indeed, a great "Pigeon Gun". I had the opportunity to handle the gun after it was purchased and can attest to it being a very nice Fox.

It did have the features of a live bird gun: no safety, two triggers and straight stock. Do I remember it being an extractor gun tho? And in the 10XXX serial number range? Or was it 16XXX?

Perhaps the happy new owner or his son from Idaho will set me straight.

Thanks.

Jolly,
Nice to see everyone at the show. I got to meet some new folks. A great bunch of people. The gun is a C (extractor) gun made in 1910 in the 16xxx range. I have been attending the show for fifteen years and learn new things every year. All of the Fox Collectors have been most helpful. John

John,

Very nice live bird gun. You and son Ben seemed to be pleased, and rightly so.

Good seeing many Fox folks there plus many other classic double fans.

Bill,
I have mislead you. The gun is has ejectors not extractors. The odd thing to me is that the water table is marked C but the card is marked ejectors. The gun does have the early style ejectors. I am attempting to attach a copy of the guns card and the production card. It is my understanding that these are not common.

Hi John,

I had thought some other material; hang tags, etc. came with the gun. I have never seen that type work card that went along with the gun thru various factory operations showing the date, the employee initials, etc. Very, very neat.

I'm thinking you may get requests for pictures of the gun and the rest of the material.

Very nice John.

Thanks for posting pictures of those cards.

Bill,
I have taken a few more pictures with my iPad . I get a message the files are too big to upload. I would be happy to share with help. I do have a grandson but he is too young to talk. John
