Hi there,
im new to the site, I have just been given my grandfathers old fox model B, the only markings of note on it is a small "140" on the underside receiver. Its a savage Fox made in america, no serial number makes it pre-68? is that right? I intend to do a restore on the gun, the stock is broken, severly, as is the top tang thumg safety, the cast iron thumb piece was cracked internally and crumbled as i excavated the stock. Once i found the bolt holding the stock into the rear of the gun housing it was easier. So the gun is in ok shape, ive got lots of pictures for before and after shots, so i will post them as i continue onward with the work. right now im just doing thorough cleaning of all parts and rust removal. the safety toggle and stock are all that appears broken at this early stage. So im looking for a stock and a safety switch, any tips of odd and ends laying around..Im in canada.
Thanks abunch, and i look forward to starting a restore thread here or possible just add to this one.
