Fox Collectors

I am thinking about getting a take down case for my Sterlingworth. I see Orvis and Connecticut Shotgun, among others, offer take down cases. Is this the best way to transport the gun? Of course, I would never let the airport baggage handlers get hold of it! But it seems such a case would be more protective than the usual gun sock or canvas gun case, keeping the stock and barrel from getting banged on hard surfaces. Just a thought. How do you transport your Fox?

Vintage Leg-o-mutton cases are very nice and reasonably price. Excellent protection and look good too. Craig

Check out the Boyt take downs. Nice and affordable. JMO.

I have 3 or 4 vintage leg o' mutton cases but I rarely use them anymore. I agree they look cool, and if you're going to the club, etc. they're fine, but in the field I find them to be too much trouble and prefer a one-piece case. I bought a double case from Galazan similar to the Boyt cases but they don't sell the double anymore. JMHO.

Back in the day, these were probably the best a lowly Sterlingworth or A-Grade rated --



Probably would have to have at least a CE-Grade before springing for the cost of a leg-of-mutton case.
