I recently aquired a beautiful AH Fox AE grade in a 16 ga. The gun is very light in weight. I've been told this gun might be one of the 16 ga guns that was built on a 20 ga frame............. how can you tell ?

I'm kind of new to the Fox guns.................. that's why I asked. I called Conn. Shotgun and spoke to them about the gun. They asked if it's a 16 ga or a 16 ga built on a 20 ga frame. There was a note in the price guide the salesman was using. It asked that very question.

The original Fox 16 and 20 gauge guns share the same frame size except for the 20 gauge HE which is built on a 12 gauge frame. Don't know if Galazan scaled the 20 ga frame down farther when they started making Fox guns as they did with the 28 and .410 but I doubt it.

Tony scaled the Fox frame way down and made ten or so .22 rimfire double rifles.

Dave did Tony scale down the 20 gauge frame or does he still use the same frame for the 16 gauge and the 20's? I have seen a custom .22 caliber size action in progress but didn't realize Galazan had done it first. Sure would make a cute little .22 K Hornet with 26 inch barrels.

one of Galazans 22 caliber Fox guns was for sale at Auction at RIA recently... did not see what it went for but the estimate was REALLY high if you ask me.... There is a guy hand building double barrel 22Hornets FROM DAMASCUS and they sell for about 1/5 of the estimate on Galazans gun.
