2 1/2 chambers

would you consider a sterlingworth with short chambers to be more or less desireable/valuable than one that is or was lengthened to 2 3/4 inches? to some the short chambers are a turnoff. jim

More...all things being equal an oringinal gun is always worth more than an altered one. Many small gauge Foxes with light barrels have been ruined by having their chambers lengthened. If you can afford any decent Fox and you prefer it to modern repeaters you should be able to afford proper ammo for it.

To collectors the short chambers are a big plus. Myself, I pass on them because I don't want the expense of shooting them but agree that one in top condition should not be altered. There are enough 2 3/4" chambered and rechambered guns out there. Just requires patientce to find them.
