Just purchased my first Fox sterlingworth 16 gauge ,my question is do the barrels on all sterlingworths must ring like crystals,or not?when i hit the barrels i dont get that nice ringing sound that i get from my other guns.

There may be a small section of rib that is slightly loose. No big deal ! Shoot it and enjoy it and if rib comes loose have ribs relaid.It is possible to spot repair also.Bobby

Bobby thank you for the info,what do you look for if rib has been relaid?

If rib has been relaid properly it will look like a factory job and barrels are usually reblued. Sloopy work could show solder not cleaned up and removed properly along sides of rib and barrel joint.
