Montana. Right in the middle of the state. It has been hot! Still getting to the mid 70’s during the day but cooling off good at night down to 50 or so. The mornings are just right for a quick hunt.

Isn't it great when it all comes together? Nice shooting. Tell us your choice of gun and ammo.

Re: Sharpy double
A western hunt is on my bucket list. I had a great elk spot back in the day near Parachute Colorado that was just lousy with birds. I spent a few days trying to hit one with a bow after I tagged out. Lots of fun.

The last couple of years I’ve hunted with a late model sterlingworth 16 gauge marked 2 3/4 chambers. I’m using 6 shot right now but when pheasant opens up I’ll switch to 5 shot. The wind can blow here like crazy!! On the windy nasty days I will use 4 shot. Have been using rst shells recently but before I knew about them I was using regular Winchester high brass. Not sure I do anything right…. But it seems to work for me.
