Fox Collectors

Well, I wasn’t really searching hard for one but it showed up anyway. Seller listed this 20ga with limited info and some fairly dark photos. I noticed the escutcheon in the beaver tail foreend and made a call and asked some questions. Anyways, now I have an ejector 20ga Utica Sterly with 26” barrels, beaver tail forend, and a nicely figured buttstock that must have come off a graded gun or was a custom job. Should make a nice bird gun!

I saw that gun listed and the pictures were awful. Much nicer then.I thought it would be. Two thumbs up.

PS. Restock at least on the buttstock. Beavertail forearm if original should have serial number stamped inside next to the forearm iron.

The beaver tail is original and so stamped as you mentioned. The buttstock is interesting because it obviously isn’t original (half-pistol, much nicer than you would expect on a Sterly) but it is fitted up nicely. I’ll get some more pictures up. Someone knew what they were doing if custom but it almost looks like a factory stock that someone mated up to the gun? I agree that they did themselves no favors with the photos or the lack of mention of ejectors. As such, I feel I am into it quite well as I was the only bidder at their starting price. Gun is tight, barrels ring, and ejectors work as they should. Gun showed much better than I thought from their photos as well.

Yes, very nice. Good Deal. That forend is definitely Fox/Savage Utica. Question: does the left barrel breech have the 2-3/4" chamber stamp? frank

Very nice find. Looks like it would be a great skeet or upland gun.

How are the barrels marked -- STERLINGWORTH FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL or SPECIAL ALLOY -- FORGED STEEL? From guns I've previously recorded the barrels are a mix in that serial number range.

The barrels are marked as follows: No 2 3/4” stamping
