We are having our 3rd annual Central Pa SxS fun shoot May 16th at the Blue Ridge Sportsman's Club in Harrisburg Pa. We had about 20 shooters last year and I hope to see it continue to grow. All SxS's are welcome, no prizes but lots of fun. Details are posted on the Parker Events Forum.

I was at the Blue Ridge shoot last year and had a grand time. If memory serves me there were only two Fox guns there, mine and Dick Baum's. It would be nice to see more Foxes there this time! Silvers

Back to the top. We only had a few Fox guns last year so get them out of mothballs and come on out and join us. Link is in the first thread.
Hope to see you at Blue Ridge!

Hopefully we will have COOLER weather for this event than we had at THE SOUTHERN SXS.
Dottie, the BRSC cook, will have breakfast sandwiches ready for us at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning the 16th of May 2009 at the gun club.
Dottie will have lunch ready at noon for all of the shooters and guest.
Chuck is planning a dinner after the shooting at a restaurant close by Blue Ridge Sporting Clays.
Good Shooting To You All, Jent

Update 4/30/09
Our central meeting place will be the 5 Stand Pavilion (blue building) located on your left about half way down the driveway to the main clubhouse. There are plenty of picnic tables under roof and lots of parking. From there you can find squad mates and go out and shoot the courses.
1. Prices for non-members at Blue Ridge are $11.00 for 50 targets on the Sporting Clays Course, and $5.00 per 25 targets on the 5 Stand and Pyramid Wobble Trap.
2. To sign up to shoot the Sporting Clays course, you register and pay at the Main Clubhouse. For 5 Stand and Pyramid Wobble Trap, you sign up and pay right at the 5 Stand and Wobble Trap location.
3. There will be a sign in sheet located at the 5 Stand Pavilion. Please sign in when you arrive. This is just so I can keep track of all who attend.
4. There is a small kitchen located in the main clubhouse available for breakfast and lunch.
5. For those who want something to eat before driving home, let’s meet at . Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar - Route 22 location:
7025 Allentown Blvd.
Harrisburg, PA 17112
717-920-WING (9464)
http://www.aroogas.com/index.html Easy to find but I will have directions available at the pavilion.

It sure looks like nice weather for Friday. OK, so who's going to be there toting Foxes? I'll be at the clubhouse at about 9am. Silvers

Silvers,
I went all the way to Rhode Island to shoot with you....spent $500 to have my broken down van fixed in Worcester, Mass...another $50 for a rental car to get me from the garage to the clays course....Foxist and Tool Man started without me, but I caught up to them on the third station....the Foxes prevailed.
Now it's your turn to lift the heavy end.
P.S. I'll see you at the Bo-Whoop party where the heavy girls get to dance.

Mike, I talked with Toolman yesterday and he told me about your van and how you went all out to get to Addieville. It sounds like "fun" as we call "mess" situations at work. I see you were high gun, good shooting! I knew weeks earlier I couldn't be at the Fox & Parker Challenge, traveling with my wife. I imagine TOOL had some choice comments about my trip with her, at least he did to me when we talked on Sat morning.
I'll try my best at Blue Ridge. Haven't decided yet whether Matilda (32") or Blondi (30") will be traveling down with me. Maybe both girls.... I wonder if they'll get in a cat fight with Anna N at Hidden Hollow?
Seriously I'm looking forward to shooting with you and all the Foxers at HH and hopefully I'll get MORE HELP with the Bo-Whoop so I can break away from the station even more. I talked with Dave Suponski (Parker 16 here) last night and he said the Parker boys are laying out some lead in prep for the Fox & Parker rematch at Hidden Hollow.
OK - back to Blue Ridge.... who all might be there with Foxes? Frank

Frank, I can tell you that a 2 of my friends should be showing up with Foxes so you and Dick won't be completly alone
Looking forward to Saturday!

Well we had a grand time at Blue Ridge and the only downside for me was I had to leave after 75 rounds of the 100 to get back home for our grandaughter's birthday party. Orders from headquarters, OK to go shooting but be back home by 2:30.
I saw many old friends and met some new ones. I did see about 4 or 5 Foxes at the club including a KNOCKOUT Philadelphia Arms 32" straight grip owned by Daryl Corona who was Runner-Up at our 2008 Ansley H Fox Championship shoot at Pintail Point. Nice long LOP and high stock dimensions. Daryl told me he'll have her at the Bo-Whoop trophy shoot at Hidden Hollow. Jent and others took a bunch of pictures and I'm sure they'll post them here and on some other sites. Another highlight for me was meeting up with master ACGG stockmaker and friend Craig Libhart to pick up my redone straight grip 32" Super Fox which was just completed yesterday. She'll be at the Bo-Whoop Trophy shoot too.
Thank you Chuck for making all the arrangements at Blue Ridge. Great job! Frank

BTW Frank, Daryl was the only shooter to break all 25 targets at the 5 stand, made it look easy. I know the gun he was shooting had long barrels and I think it was a 16ga but I'm not sure since I don't pay much attention if it's not a Parker

My thanks to all who attended the Central Pa SxS shoot held this past Saturday at the Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Club in suburban Harrisburg Pa. I believe everyone had a good time, got to see old friends and made some new ones. I know I did.
The weather started out damp and dreary with a fine mist up until about 9:00am. From then until about noontime, it was really overcast with a short shower around 12:30. The afternoon got brighter and the sun came out along with a pick up in the wind.
My sign up sheet indicates 35 shooters from PA, NJ, MD, and VA. I’m sure there were quite a few shooters who didn’t sign my sheet so I’d estimate a total of 40 or more total shooters. Guns recorded were Parker, Fox, Iver Johnson, Baker, Lefever, Beretta, Winchester, LC Smith, Browning, CZ, SKB, Craig Libhart shooting a LePage (some kind of French gun), and Dewey Vicknair isn’t sure what he’s shooting because he put a ? down for the gun type. A shame that a gunsmith can’t identify his gun!
Ed Clapper (Average Ed) was there. He writes a column every month for Shotgun Sports Magazine and he's planning on writing an article for the magazine about our shoot and shooting vintage guns in a future column. He was at our first shoot and planned on writing about it but his editor wanted him to concentrate on trapshooting. Hopefully it will be a different result this time. I'll keep everyone posted if it's published.
I’ll post a link to Photobucket when I get all the pictures uploaded and identified.
Maybe we’ll do this again in early September if a date can be worked out.
