Had a very slow opener but I did manage a black and pintail. Shot my DE pawn shop gun

Craig, I love that gun! Your dog looks like she is "all business" and I like the faux grass on your boat blind. Our "real" duck season is still several weeks away and I am chomping at the bit to get out after ducks with my DE again!
I took it to Beaver Dam last year and made the mistake of shooting some old bismuth non-tox in it that had several rounds with surface corrosion on the heads; even though I went over them with 4X steel wool and they chambered OK, the heads expanded so badly when fired they would not eject and hung up the ejectors short of full travel. I had to forcibly pull them out of the gun.
On the third round the right barrel ejector "jumped" the stuck shell and broke the ejector guide pin which put me out of action for the morning. I wound up having to cut the shell base rim off with tin snips so it would clear the ejector orbit which freed the shell. (Luckily I had my HE as backup for the next day). This time the DE is ready to go; all I need now is the ducks!! Kevin

Thanks Jeff all the stone came from a hedgerow 100 yards away. The glacier provided rock from the Canadian shield, local limestone and sandstone.

Good to see your duck hunting pics again, Craig. I always look forward to, and enjoy, them!
I'm anxious for our season to get here.

I’m w/Jeff. The “lodge” fire place is great especially w/locally sourced stone. Something special about a place like that. Enjoy your time while fondling the DE!

The Arliss boys get the stones for you? Bill Harper?
