Just a thought. Possibly the gun had been modified at one time as a SET GUN.

Bill this is what I was referencing.
Modifying a regular shotgun to act as a "set gun" (often referred to as a "trap gun" or "trap-shotgun," designed to fire when a tripwire is pulled) is illegal in many jurisdictions due to strict laws against booby traps and unapproved NFA (National Firearms Act) items in the U.S.

Im sure it’s not modified like this. Just thought this is an interesting picture taken during military training.

You're giving me ideas for modifying my nine shot A-5 with Cutts. I'll have to find a pickup truck to complete the "set". I drove to Culpepper Virginia to pick up my first Fox single. The fellow had a garage full of finished hot rods. The car of the collection was a military Ford 151 jeep with a General Electric deactivated minigun mounted in the rear. He drove it on the street. He told me that he got some strange looks from ex-military types who knew what a minigun was.

I was born 30 years too late. I know it was akin to a death sentence but just think what a rush it would have been to be able to be a door gunner on a B17 or on a naval vessel trying to shoot down an enemy aircraft. Thank the Lord I didn't have to do it but I'm sure I would have been fairly good at it.

Daryl, i cant remember where i read or if i viewed article on gunner training and selection, but it did not take long for the armed services to establish correlation between good gunners and country boys who who put meat on the table with 22s and shotguns  ps i bet you would have been a badass with a ma deuce

The fellow who delivered my Fox single told me his minigun was deactivated. I'm not so sure. I understand that Northern Virginia has the largest percentage of registered class 3 weapons per population in the entire USA.

Thanks for the endorsement. Audie Murphy is one example of a country boy who could shoot and shoot he did. I've shot the Ma Deuce and I'm pretty sure I could hit something with it. Of course that was with no one shooting back at me. :(
