Have a 20 ga. A Grade whose right ejector guide pin has come loose from the ejector. Took it to a Boise gun shop that had repaired the same problem in my 12 ga. A Grade several years ago, altho it took them at least 3 times. The gunsmith that did that job has apparently moved on and the fellow that worked on it this time couldn't get a weld to stick, and was afraid of ruining parts if he kept going. Idaho gunsmiths experienced in classic American side-by-sides aren't easy to find, so I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a shop that could handle this repair; in Idaho, or elsewhere?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Ejector Guide Pin Repair
Many years ago I started doing guide pin replacements using high temp silver braze which negates the problem of trying to micro weld and possibly melt/distort the edge and face of the ejector. That’s by drilling a blind hole dead nuts on location, using a new guide pin, and silver brazing that pin and also a tiny cross pin at the same time. I’ve never had one pull out or break again. Sorry I no longer do commission work but my technique has been copied by others. But it might be hard to find another ‘smith to work with a faulty past weld repair. When you do find one I suggest you ask about his/her repair process and how to keep the ejector face and edge from getting distorted. Usually all that's needed by the 'smith are the barrels; no need to ship the complete gun. Hopefully some of our members will suggest proven names. frank

Re: Ejector Guide Pin Repair
MANY thanks for your reply, guidance and suggestions!! This a brilliant approach and extremely creative! Even a non-machinist like myself can see that this should be very effective. I hope I can find someone that uses this approach. I will certainly attempt to forward your process to any smith I can find who's doing Fox repairs. I assume my best hope is "east of the Mississippi"...
Thanks again.
