Rosey Running SD 2025

Post by Foxnut »

Made it out to SD for our annual post Thanksgiving hunt. What normally takes 17 hours took 18 hours and 45 minutes thanks to Winter Storm Bellamy but thankfully everyone made it safely. There our 8 of us and 4 English Setters including Rosey. We started hunting Saturday morning with a fresh 3 inches of snow, 14 degrees and wind blowing 20 -25 mph most of the day. Not ideal but at least the sun was out a good part of the day. We all managed our individual limit on pheasant but Huns and Sharptails were skittish and busted well out of range most of the time. This is a pick of Rosey retrieving my last of my 3 rooster limit yesterday afternoon. More to come - Brett

Sounds like a cold, but successful hunt. Congratulations.

Awesome!

That is a bucket list trip for me. Hopefully someday soon.

Headed back today from SD. Ended up having a great trip but cold and snowy. A couple more pics of Rosey and my S-I-L’s dog on point as a rooster flushed in front of me. This bird was buried in the CRP under the snow. I’ll add additional pics when I pull them off video. Brett
