Just out of curiosity I checked my Savage made 30" AE 20 gauge with factory 2 3/4" chambers and the chokes measure .032 and .032 per my skeets gauge. Pretty darn tight.

My 1920 vintage AE-Grade 20-gauge with 30-inch barrels, and ordered chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells, has bores of .617" and .618" and .031" choke in both tubes.

Craig's measurement of six Super Foxes is even tighter at .035, none are too unusual. My .040 is unusual, but if it shoots an unusually tight pattern, it's probably a factory adjustment. The muzzle dimension is not changed, only the bore. Again, Fox fooled with 12 gauge Super Fox bores to achieve a desired pattern, why not fool with the 20s? We need to find more 20 gauge Super Fox bores and chokes to measure.

I thought there would be more interest in the original bores of these guns that few people know anything about.

I don't think many members have them Bill and thus they can't comment on bore measurements.
