Re: Help identifying my A H Fox shotgun
i was going to say that configuration would make a good pheasant gun, a straight grip, and 30" barrels swing nice-

Re: Help identifying my A H Fox shotgun
Thanks for all the Info before
I'm back
There is a gun show this weekend and I think I will take it there and see what Happens.
I'm wanting to know how much do you think I can get for it?? or how much is it worth?
It's marked 2nd on the barrel and all 3 pieces have 11621 A
And that screw was loose on the 2nd picture

Re: Help identifying my A H Fox shotgun PAGE TWO
IMO the plus its a straight grip and the wood looks good. That said, first generation engraved 12 gauges unless they are in really super condition don't bring much these days. IMO you might be looking at 1200 to 1400 range and that would be from a private sale. Dealer maybe 900. Thats pure speculation on my part, but unless they are collector grade guns, 12 gauges just don't bring much. Others may have a different opinion.
PS. It appears you never joined the Fox Collectors Group. If you had you could list it for sale on this forum and you would have known how it left the factory because the order card is available per Toolman.

I agree with Tom. As I was looking at the pictures I was guessing that someone would pay 1,200. The wood looks nice.

Re: Help identifying my A H Fox shotgun PAGE TWO
Can someone post a picture of a order card so I can see what Info is on there?
Yes the wood is in good condition, just a few small dents, no crack.
After reading more Information I think I should keep it, Just thinking it's over 100 years old is mind blowing to me. I did tool and die work and Machine work for 30 years and can't understand how they made these guns back in that day.

Scroll through these pics of a CE grade that recently sold at auction and you will see an order card.

Once you have joined, go to the members only section. Create a new post that states I would like a card for serial #——-. You may not be able to access the “members only section” instantaneously. Our administrator may have to turn it on (I can’t remember).

I typically takes 1-2 weeks and sometimes more to get member status and enable your access to the Members Forums where you may ask for a Records Card copy. I am not involved in that process though I know how it works. Yes, most everyone wants "instant pudding" nowadays but pls keep in mind that the Association is run by volunteers who do do their roles if/when they have free time.
One other comment, whether you keep or flip that Fox you'll want to tighten that trigger plate screw with a proper fitting screwdriver so it indexes 6/12 o'clock on the long axis of the barrels. Usually they're pretty tight and don't come loose so it's likely someone was inside your Fox for some reason. Might be good to have a good SxS guy check it out for cocking, trigger and safety functions. frank
