Early serial # Grade A available

Post by csthraen »

For those interested there is a 1907, very low serial number (if i read the tag correctly), Grade A Fox on offer at one of my shooting clubs. It is on consignment. They do not list these on the website so a visit or phone call is required.

1907 is not early. The guns from 1905 and 1906 from the factory at Wayne & Bristol Streets with serial numbers below 3000 are early. The earliest guns have the single AUG. 1, 1905, patent date and "OTHER PATENTS PENDING" on the watertable.

Caveat, there are guns with serial numbers below 3000 that were obviously finished up much later at North 18th Street.

I called BW. Not relying on what was written on the tag listing 1907 as the production year, I asked that they check the serial on the water table and barrel flats: Serial number is in fact number 19. More info will require a phone call to BW.

That is certainly an early gun. I'd love to see pictures of serial number 19.

Since I've been recording the "Wayne & Bristol Streets" guns, I've recorded one- and two-digit serial numbers 2, 5, 8, 15, 18, 29, 35, 65, 68 & 91.
