Kudos to Daryl, Steve and the volunteers!
I want to personally congratulate Daryl, Steve and all the volunteers who put on the BW/WCL/BBW side matches. Well done guys! They ran smoothly and were a lot of fun. Targets were both fun and fair for all. You garnered some good participation, that's what it's all about. I especially want to thank Craig Larter for allowing me to use his 8 bore and shells for the BW event! That was a lot of fun swinging that ol' Hoss around!! When I grow up I too will have an 8 bore double!!

I agree Mike, they did a great job of organizing the event. Like you, I thoroughly enjoyed shooting Craig’s 8 ga. Lefever. Wow! What a beauty! Thanks Craig.
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

Just a SWAG, but I'd say that 8 bore was easily over 12-13 lbs.

The Parker and Lefever both weight 13 1/2 lbs. 36" barrels on the Parker 34" on the Lefever. Shooting 8's is big fun and a small group of us is trying to promote their use at vintage sxs events. I did start a 8ga shooters and collectors group on Facebook.

I actually watched the 8 Gauge 5 Stand event. Rather awesome to watch the big boomers at work. I will say trying to get that beast swinging in one direction and then having to stop it and swing it in a totally opposite direction on doubles is fun to watch. I don't think there is such a thing as muscle memory when you have that sort of thing happen.fox-admin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 6:00 pm The Parker and Lefever both weight 13 1/2 lbs. 36" barrels on the Parker 34" on the Lefever. Just a suggestion; Don't ever grow up, and don't wait to buy an 8. Do it while you are young.
