2022 Baby Whoop competition rules

Post by DarylC »

*This will be an event open to all makes and models of shotguns shot on a modified BoWhoop course.
*All gauges are welcome to try their skill. But.........
*A $100 purse, split 50/30/20 will be available to those who choose to shoot a true smallbore scattergun. This includes any gauge16 and under with a maximum shot charge of 7/8oz. You must shoot LOW GUN to qualify. With the butt off your shoulder and level with your elbow and not mounting until the birds are visible.
*There will be 10 targets, 5 true pairs.
*There will be no shoot-offs. Winners determined by long run from the front.

So bring your bird guns and try your skill. Above all be safe and have fun.
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

Seem to recall someone just bought a 30 inch barrel Sterly 16 ga. That seems to be a good choice for this event.

I hope to see some of those custom Fox small bores - that are often shown here in pics with knockout wood, fancy engravings and stocked to personal dimensions - out shooting the Baby Whoop and on the courses. The latter feature (personal dimensions) has got to be an advantage over run of the mill factory stocks. Or so the gun fitter experts say.

I’ll start practicing, and you’re welcome to give it a try.

I've got my own 30" 16 gauge Sterly. I'll bring it with me and shoot the event with it. Haven't fired it for about 3 years. Its time.
