Re: FE Grade at Auction
I haven’t checked what the hammer was on that gun yet. Did anyone get to look at it in person? Also interested if anyone looked at the K SBT. It was lot #5006. Brett

Re: FE Grade at Auction
I was set-up to phone bid on the "K" but pulled-out after I zoomed-in on where the rib mates-up/pins to the frame. It just didn't look right to my eye. Pretty gun otherwise and she was choked at a diesel-smokin' .040. Maybe I goofed-up? A real leap of faith when you only have two pics to base your decision upon.

On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

I thought the prices for all the Foxes was strong, $6900 for the K. The FE could be saved in my opinion but a long and expensive project, but hey only 12 FE's made.

Wow, obviously someone really liked the "K"! Guess I should have left the electron microscope in its case. Nothing beats a gun in-hand! Maybe we'll see her at the Letterman Cup in June?

The things folks do to guns is flat out interesting. Ya wonder what was popping up in their minds, and then I think that was the time when moonshine was king.

Re: FE Grade at Auction
Cody Research confirmed a single trigger and we see a later Miller with the rocker type selector. That's a great/reliable trigger to be sure but I would think the RIA tech people would have called out for those vague on Millers that the trigger isn't a Fox-Kautzky. Very hard to revert to a Kautzky if someone wanted to restore. Did I say very very?

Craig, thanks for posting the link. I tried to find the pictures on my own, but was unsuccessful.

Re: FE Grade at Auction
Craig,
Thanks for the link. I was at the Vegas show a number of years ago and there was an FE for sale. I can’t say whether or not it was this gun. The gun quickly flipped a couple of times and found a new home. In later talking to another collector I found out a little history on the Vegas gun. The collector “found” it with a fellow that trained pointing dogs. The trainer used it as a training aid so it spent part of its life riding in a scabbard on a horse. The wood had been completely worn away. The gun was later restocked and the original wood remained with the gun for some period. The gun and the original wood eventually parted company. Maybe someone that was at the show with full mental capacity would remember the Vegas gun. Thanks again for the link. John

Re: FE Grade at Auction
I've never seen an FE in person, so not to sound stupid, what are the concerns you guys have with the gun?
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.
