Yet another question on letters

Post by Fin2Feather »

Just wondered if anyone has ordered or received a Fox letter now that Cody is handling them. Would be interesting to know the price, turn around time and level of satisfaction, if you'd care to share. Thanks...

I have not ordered or received a letter from Cody, but noticed the below on the Rock Island Auction website for Fox FE 19460, which just hammered for $16K plus the juice.

I note is says "This document does not constitute a factory letter "?

Interesting. Made for stock and rush. Those two don't seem to go together. Wouldn't all D grades be special order?

First one I've seen on a Fox. That's a quickie sort of "lookup" available from Cody by email to those who sign up for that service. I have several of them in my files on Model 21's and they all have that heading including the statement it's not a factory letter. A dealer friend who got my M-21 documents said he was allotted X lookups per period and the typical request took a few days for a reply. I didn't ask and don't know what the service cost.

Regarding the FE in the document, why would it be ordered without a butt plate? Would a pad be added later?
