What kind of FOX is this one?
Hi all Fox collectors,
Attached photos is a AH Fox shot gun I found being hidden at my attic. It won't be located if I didn't decide to do some renovation. It was underneath the insulation. I have very limited knowledge about this piece. Could someone help identify it with the pictures I provided? I would like to find out the Grade and possible production year. Thank you so much!

@SPE33, Thank you so much! It is definitely a 16 gauge. Your information narrows my research on this gun.

Only thing I ever find under my insulation is dead bugs or a mouse. Lucky find indeed. PS. I'd be pulling up more insulation.

It's absolutely amazing that someone left that in the attic. Good for you.
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

Nice early 1920s A-Grade 16-gauge. Looks like it could do with a bit of attention from a qualified double gun smith. Wonderful find. Keep in mind that if you decide to go shooting, 16-gauge guns from that vintage were chambered for the then "standard" 2 9/16 inch shells. Also, the A.H. Fox Gun Co. had the policy of chambering their guns about 1/8 inch shorter than the shell they were intended for. The theory was that the mouth of the case extending a bit into the forcing cone improved the gas seal as the payload and wads jumped from the end of the case into the bore.
