Savage fox model b barrels

Post by Dokraul »

Will the model b receiver accept a model fse barrel? The fse is stamped model b on the barrel but has selective ejectors. I'm planning on getting a shorter side by side barrel but the fse was the only available one. Any input? Tnx

Don't mean to sound snobbish, but this web site is dedicated to the guns designed/built by Ansley H. Fox at the Fox Gun Co., Balto., Md., U.S.A.; Philadelphia Arms Co.; the A.H. Fox Gun Co. and after late 1929 by Savage Arms Corp. The Model B was a slightly dressed up version of the J. Stevens Arms Co. No. 530, which Savage Arms Corp. added to their A.H. Fox catalogues in 1940. The Model B has nothing to do with Ansley H. Fox designs.

Sounds like a question for a gunsmith to me; I doubt anyone on the internet can tell you for sure. I'd find a good 'smith who's familiar with sxs shotguns and take the receiver and barrels in to see if they can be fitted. Good luck!
