Firing pin question

Post by CalebH »

Hello guys, I recently picked up an A grade 12 a couple days ago that I posted about in the collectors forum. I shot the gun 2 or 3 times the day I got it with no issues. Well today I decided to bust a few skeet with it. I shot it probably 15-18 times with no issues but on the last shot I only shot the back trigger. When I went to open the gun, it wouldn't break all the way open. I then shut it and removed the forearm and the barrel. I then noticed that the back trigger's firing pin was sticking out in the firing position and will not go back in so my question is, what do I do about this? Is there a way I can fix it myself or do I need to take it to a smith? Thanks for your help.

Take it to someone who has experience on doubles. It sounds like a worn sear or hammer notch and would best be checked by a gunsmith.
Recoil is most noticed when I miss

Turns out the firing pin has broke off the hammer and it appears that it has been welded on before. Just talked to Jason at Pumpkin Mountain (super nice guy) and should have a new hammer in the mail tomorrow.
